Private Lessons

As a young performer, I began by having a private music instructor to look up to. I was given guidance on which warm ups to do, how to gain vocal agility, how to sing with power and consider dynamics in piano and singing. I was taught scales, keys, and chords and how these relate to the songs I was learning to play. All of this has proven so important through the stages of advancement in music. I am grateful for every lesson I have ever received and I hope to offer a similar experience to my students. .

Every recital I was able to perform in, every stage I stood on, every audience I learned to connect with brought me that much closer to becoming a performance ready musician. I needed a person all along the way saying, "You can do this! You have what it takes. I believe in you." I hope to give my students all of this and more in their private lessons at my studio.

Visual, Aural & Kinesthetic Learning

Musik Garten is so unique because it starts music at such a young age. It gives young children an innate sense of musicality before they can even play an instrument. They have learned the forms, rhythms, intervals, and musical language they will need. They will have also developed strong vocal abilities as well as the muscle memory and fine motor skills it takes to play an instrument well in the future all before age 6.

This approach to learning helps music become a part of the child's deep seated abilities because they started in their crucial developmental years of age  0 to 5. Not only does enrolling your child in a Musik Garten class allow them to become natural musicians, it also sets them up with a greater ability for learning in all future subjects.

Musik Garten is designed to utilize each developing skill of a child in the classes as that skill is being developed in the child. For instance a child's eyesight for focused reading called their foveal focus does not develop until age 7 or 8. So Musik Garten rightfully waits to expect children to have the skill of focused reading until those ages. Instead it focuses on learning by interactive movement, focused listening and broad visual pictures since these are the areas that are actively being developed in children through age 6.
